We are working with a private equity-owned global manufacturer of industrial equipment. The company manufactures spray finishing and fluid handling equipment and sells through distributors and direct channels. The company is headquartered in the US and has manufacturing operations in the US, UK, Germany, and Japan.
Our client is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Manager for their manufacturing facility in Yokohama, Japan. The key requirements for the role include:
- Manufacturing/production management experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role (team leadership of at least 10 people).
- Proven expertise in production planning, process management, cost control, and quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
- Experience in industrial machinery, equipment, or precision instruments manufacturing, preferably in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
- Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies (preferred, but strongly desired).
- Cross-functional collaboration skills to work with Engineering, Procurement, QA, Sales, and global sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Bi-lingual: Japanese (JLPT N1-equivalent) and business-level English (for global communication and technical documentation).
