SUMMARY:
An opportunity is available for an experienced MHE Driver to operate material handling equipment, including reach trucks, forklifts, order pickers, and long forks. The role supports efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of stock within a fast-paced Distribution Centre.
POSITION INFO:
Location: Kuilsriver
Rate: R38.58 p/h
Key Responsibilities
Stock Storage (Put-Away)
- Scan pallet labels at pick-up points
- Transport and store pallets in designated rack locations
- Scan rack locations to confirm accurate placement
- Ensure all movements are correctly recorded via RF (Radio Frequency) system
- Support receiving operations by transporting pallets from receiving areas
Line Building & Replenishment
- Follow instructions via RF scanner/reader
- Retrieve pallets from storage locations
- Deliver stock to designated picking bays
- Scan pallet and bay locations to confirm accurate placement
- Ensure pre-release orders are delivered to picking areas timeously
- Complete all line building instructions accurately
Operational Support
- Work closely with control room and supervisors to ensure stock availability
- Ensure all tasks are completed and recorded according to operational requirements
- Maintain accuracy and efficiency in all stock movements
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Minimum Grade 10
Experience:
- Proven experience operating MHE equipment (reach truck, forklift, order picker)
- Valid MHE/Forklift licence (essential)
- Experience working in a warehouse or distribution environment
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work with RF scanning systems
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Team player with a responsible and safety-conscious attitude
Physical Requirements
- Physically fit and able to work long hours
- Comfortable working at heights (for reach truck/order picker operations)
- Good eyesight and coordination
