Our client is a well-established Australian manufacturer supplying specialised vehicle equipment, accessories and engineered components designed for commercial fleets.
The business develops and distributes a range of products used in vehicle fit-outs and fleet modifications across industries such as utilities, construction, government, mining, telecommunications and service trades. Their solutions are supplied nationally through a network of automotive dealerships, distributors and fleet management organisations that support large corporate and government vehicle programs.
With decades of experience in the vehicle equipment and fleet solutions sector, the organisation has built a reputation for delivering reliable products, strong technical support and dependable supply into large fleet environments.
Due to continued national growth and expansion of their distribution network, an opportunity now exists for an experienced Key Account Manager to join the team and help drive further market development across Australia.
OPPORTUNITY
This role is responsible for growing and supporting a national dealer and distribution network while identifying new opportunities across the fleet, dealership and vehicle modification channels. It's 70% new business focussed, opening up new trade lanes with existing (or dormant) customers) and 30% key account management of tier 1 clients.
Working closely with senior leadership, you'll work on strengthening partner relationships while expanding market presence through new distributors and strategic fleet partnerships.
This position is well suited to someone who enjoys working within channel-based sales environments and building long-term commercial partnerships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and onboarding new distributors, resellers and dealership partners across Australia
- Managing and strengthening relationships with existing dealer and fleet partners
- Supporting partners with product knowledge, sales strategies and market engagement
- Developing regional sales strategies to increase distribution and market penetration
- Acting as the key contact point for commercial, operational and product related matters
- Monitoring pipeline activity, market demand and sales performance across the network
- Supporting tenders, fleet programs and major project opportunities
- Tracking competitor activity and identifying emerging market opportunities
- Representing the business at industry events, trade shows and dealer meetings
This is a highly autonomous role with a national scope, offering the opportunity to build strong partnerships while contributing to the growth of a respected brand within the fleet and vehicle equipment sector.

CANDIDATE
The successful candidate will be a commercially minded sales professional with experience in channel-based or distributor-driven sales environments.
You may come from industries such as automotive aftermarket, vehicle equipment, fleet solutions, manufacturing, engineering products or related technical sectors.
Although it's not essential, candidates with an automotive relevant trade background as a fitter mechanic, auto-electricianOR candidates with an engineering or fabrication background (especially involving vehicle modifications) are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key attributes include:
- Proven experience in business development or channel sales in an automotive environment
- Experience managing customer target markets such as automotive dealerships, distributors, resellers or fleet partners
- Technically minded, capable of solution selling
- Strong relationship management and commercial negotiation skills
- Ability to identify and develop new market opportunities
- Experience supporting tenders or large fleet programs (advantageous)
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Highly organised with the ability to manage a national territory
- Current driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required
