Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on the repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following dealership and OEM standards.
- Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to manage production/repairs, cycle times, and customer communication.
- Conduct multi‑point inspections to make appropriate repair recommendations while ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles before return to the customer.
- Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order by creating a story in the associated system, ensuring warranty work payment is provided by the manufacturer.
- Maintain an inventory of common automotive technician tools that are not normally inventoried by the Service department as “store‑provided” equipment.
- Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory‑sponsored training classes as required.
- Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Must‑Haves
- Strong knowledge of various makes and models.
- A provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate, completed or in process.
- Red Seal Certification considered an asset.
- Completion of a related post‑secondary program or training courses.
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving history.
