Job Description
The Onsite Engineer is responsible for supporting day-to-day IT infrastructure operations within the Data Center, focusing on hardware handling, remote hands support, and coordination with Offshore teams.
This role works in a 24/7 shift model to ensure timely execution of on-site tasks and maintain system availability in alignment with defined SLAs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Perform 24/7 on-site support following shift rotation and handover procedures
- Execute hardware installation, replacement, and basic troubleshooting (servers, storage, network devices)
- Perform rack & stack, cabling, labeling, and physical connectivity support
- Provide remote hands support (power on/off, cable check, device status verification, etc.)
- Support server operations, including:
- Assist in server provisioning and OS installation (under instruction)
- Perform basic system health checks (CPU, memory, disk, hardware status)
- Support VM deployment and basic virtualization tasks (VMware/Hyper-V)
- Execute reboot, patching, and configuration changes as per approved procedures
- Verify system status after maintenance or incident resolution
- Support incident handling by executing on-site actions and coordinating with Offshore/L2 teams
- Implement approved changes (hardware changes, device relocation, patching support)
- Perform basic health checks on IT equipment and report abnormalities
- Manage and update IT asset inventory (rack, server, network devices)
- Support service requests (equipment setup, connectivity check, hands-on verification)
- Coordinate with vendors/3rd parties for hardware-related activities when required
- Ensure compliance with IT operation procedures and security policies
- Good at Korean is an advantage.
