The Opportunity: Based in the industrial powerhouse of southwest Germany, this role is about taking AI to the factory floor. Our client is a "Hidden Champion" whose machines power global supply chains. You will be the architect of their "AI-as-a-Service" offering, turning hardware into intelligent, self-optimising assets for customers worldwide.
Your Mission:
- Prescriptive Maintenance: Lead the shift from "Predictive" (what will break) to "Prescriptive" (how the machine should adjust itself to avoid breaking).
- Edge AI Strategy: Deploy models directly onto industrial controllers, ensuring zero-latency decision-making without constant cloud connectivity.
- Interoperability: Standardise data collection across diverse machine fleets using OPC-UA, MQTT, and modern Data Lakehouse architectures.
- Change Management: Spend time at manufacturing sites, working with plant managers to ensure AI tools are user-friendly and deliver immediate ROI on the shop floor.
