Head of Strategic Partnerships Jobs in United States at StartupTAP

Title: Head of Strategic Partnerships

Company: StartupTAP

Location: United States

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our partner is a boutique Tier 1 Retail Transformation agency headquartered in Southern California – 27 years old, approximately 25 people, and trusted by some of the most recognizable brands in the world. Notably, fewer than 1% of agencies reach their 26th year. They not only survived – they thrived amid global recession and a pandemic – and the agency continues to grow and attract Fortune 500 clients. That reputation was built on a simple but powerful belief: that teaching humans to treat other humans better is the most powerful driver of business transformation. They call this Human Values Design – and it is the philosophy that underpins every program, every curriculum, and every client engagement they deliver.

THE PROOF POINT

Our partner's anchor engagement with Subaru of America produced one of the most cited outcomes in automotive retail history: the Love Promise University program, which contributed directly to Subaru's meteoric rise from #10 on the J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index to #1 — in less than 6 years. In an industry where CSI scores move in fractions of a point, this result is a significant credential that opens Fortune 500 boardrooms well beyond automotive.

THE ROLE

The team is seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Strategic Partnerships to lead enterprise new business and drive the go-to-market for its next phase of growth. The core focus of this role is expanding their footprint beyond automotive and into new verticals — with retail, food and beverage, and hospitality as primary targets. This role sits at the intersection of high-trust CX transformation services and an emerging AI-driven SaaS platform.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable selling complex, relationship-driven solutions and introducing innovative technology to senior HR and Learning leaders — thriving in a build environment where they can create pipeline, shape strategy, and close high-impact deals across industries with large frontline workforces and customer-facing teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Enterprise New Business

  • Own outbound strategy targeting Fortune 500 accounts across key service industries
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of net-new logos
  • Lead full sales cycle from outreach through close
  • Develop account strategies and map key stakeholders

PropelCX GTM

  • Co-lead PropelCX launch, securing design partners and converting pilots
  • Leverage our company intelligence engine – which surfaces live company data and industry pain point benchmarks – to create a compelling, personalized first impression for every prospect
  • Translate product capabilities into clear customer value propositions. Build the SaaS sales playbook: ICP definition, messaging, demo scripts, pricing
  • Develop relationships within key networks including Vistage peer groups

Revenue Strategy & Leadership

  • Own revenue targets across services and SaaS ARR
  • Track pipeline health, deal velocity, and forecasts
  • Share market insights to inform product and strategy
  • Contribute to quarterly and annual planning

WHO YOU ARE

  • A true enterprise hunter – energized by opening net-new logos, not managing existing accounts
  • Fluent in consultative sales – you lead with business problems, not product pitches
  • Comfortable selling both services and SaaS, and understand the nuance between the two
  • Confident in executive environments, with the ability to engage CLOs, CHROs, and senior leaders
  • Highly self-directed and entrepreneurial – you don't wait for structure, you create it
  • Credible, thoughtful, and relationship-driven – you build trust quickly and sustain it
  • Motivated by building something, not just optimizing what already exists

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 7-12+ years of experience in enterprise B2B sales, with a track record of closing 6–7 figure deals
  • Experience selling professional services, consulting, or learning & development solutions
  • Exposure to or direct experience with SaaS sales, ideally in early-stage or new product environments
  • Demonstrated success building pipeline from scratch and leading full sales cycles
  • Strong understanding of customer experience, workforce transformation, or L&D ecosystems
  • Existing relationships with CLOs, CHROs, or VP-level talent leaders at large organizations
  • Ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales processes within Fortune 500 environments

LOGISTICS

  • Location: Fully remote, with travel as necessary for client meetings, conferences, and team offsites
  • Compensation: Competitive total compensation package with a highly competitive base salary and performance-based commission aligned to gross margin (50/50 split) — ensuring incentives are tied directly to company profitability, not top-line revenue. This role also includes a SaaS ARR bonus component as PropelCX scales, creating meaningful upside tied to long-term product growth and market expansion.
  • Benefits: Full benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage
