Level: Head of Marketing (8–12+ years)
The Role
We're looking for an exceptional, devoted, Head of Marketing to build and lead our marketing function during a critical stage of growth. This is not a traditional brand management or corporate marketing role. We need a hands-on, AI-native marketing leader who can define our category, sharpen our positioning, create enterprise demand, and build a measurable pipeline engine from the ground up. You will be both a strategist and an operator—developing the company's marketing strategy while personally creating campaigns, content, messaging, and systems. You will work closely with the founders, Sales, Product, and Customer Success to establish Self Inspection as the leader in Vehicle Condition Intelligence.
Core Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company's end-to-end marketing strategy across demand generation, product marketing, content, brand, communications, events, and customer marketing
- Define and strengthen our category positioning, value proposition, messaging, and competitive differentiation
- Build a predictable enterprise demand-generation engine that creates qualified pipeline and supports revenue growth
- Design account-based marketing programs targeting automotive lenders, dealers, fleets, rental companies, mobility providers, and other strategic enterprise accounts
- Translate complex AI and vehicle intelligence capabilities into clear, compelling business outcomes for executive and operational buyers
- Create high-impact content, including thought leadership, customer stories, research, sales materials, presentations, videos, and executive communications
- Own the company website, digital presence, organic growth, paid acquisition, and conversion optimization
- Build product marketing capabilities, including market research, buyer insights, competitive intelligence, product launches, and sales enablement
- Develop customer marketing programs that drive advocacy, references, case studies, expansion, and industry credibility
- Plan and execute industry events, conferences, webinars, executive roundtables, and strategic campaigns
- Manage external agencies, contractors, and technology partners while remaining personally involved in execution
- Implement and optimize AI-powered marketing workflows and modern go-to-market technologies
- Establish marketing dashboards, attribution, KPIs, budgets, and reporting that connect marketing activity to pipeline and revenue
- Recruit and develop a high-performing internal marketing team as the company grows
Required Skills & Experience
- A builder who is energized by creating an early-stage marketing function from the ground up
- Equally comfortable setting strategy and personally writing copy, building campaigns, analyzing performance, and launching initiatives
- Experienced in marketing complex enterprise SaaS products with long, multi-stakeholder buying cycles
- Highly technical and excited about using AI to improve research, content creation, personalization, campaign execution, and marketing productivity
- An exceptional storyteller who can make complex technology understandable, relevant, and commercially compelling
- Deeply customer-oriented and able to understand the needs of executives, operators, and technical stakeholders
- Data-driven, analytical, and focused on measurable business outcomes rather than activity alone
- Comfortable operating with speed, ambiguity, and limited resources in an early-stage, venture-backed company
- Collaborative, resourceful, and able to influence across Sales, Product, Customer Success, leadership, and external partners
- A player-coach who leads through action and builds the team and systems needed for scale
Minimum Qualifications
- 8–12+ years of B2B marketing experience, including significant experience in enterprise SaaS
- Proven success leading marketing in an early-stage or rapidly scaling startup environment
- Experience building a marketing function, strategy, and operating cadence from the ground up
- Demonstrated ability to generate qualified enterprise pipeline and connect marketing investment to revenue outcomes
- Strong experience in product marketing, positioning, messaging, category creation, and sales enablement
- Experience developing account-based marketing and demand-generation programs for complex enterprise buyers
- Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles, buying committees, and executive-level decision-making
- Excellent written, verbal, editorial, and presentation skills
- Experience with HubSpot or a comparable marketing automation and CRM platform, analytics tools, paid media, content systems, and AI-powered marketing technologies
- Experience managing agencies, contractors, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives
Nice to Have
- Experience marketing AI, data, workflow, or vertical SaaS products
- Automotive industry experience
You'll be a strong fit if you're eager to:
- Help define and lead an entirely new technology category
- Build the marketing function and brand at a pivotal stage of company growth
- Join a rapidly growing company backed by top Silicon Valley venture capital firms, respected automotive industry leaders, and strategic investors
- Work with customers that include some of the largest automotive companies in North America
- Work directly with experienced founders and executive leadership
- Gain exposure to Board of Directors meetings and strategic company planning, with opportunities to present marketing performance and growth initiatives
- Shape how AI transforms vehicle inspections, condition intelligence, and decision-making across the automotive industry
