Role Description The General Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in the Hilton Head Island, South Carolina area. This role oversees all aspects of the sales department, including setting sales targets, managing inventory, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The General Sales Manager leads and coaches the sales team, conducts training, manages daily sales activities, and supports team members in closing deals. Responsibilities also include developing and implementing sales strategies, coordinating with finance and service departments, handling escalated customer concerns, and maintaining compliance with company policies and relevant regulations. The role requires consistent presence on the showroom floor, active participation in community and promotional events, and collaboration with senior leadership to achieve overall business goals.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in automotive sales management or a similar retail leadership role, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
- Strong skills in team leadership, coaching, and performance management, including the ability to motivate and develop a diverse sales team.
- Proficiency in sales processes and CRM systems, along with solid understanding of inventory management and pricing strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills, with the ability to resolve issues and build lasting client relationships.
- Capability to analyze sales data, prepare reports, and make data-informed decisions to improve department performance.
- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
- Familiarity with automotive financing, compliance requirements, and relevant state and local regulations is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field is beneficial, though equivalent experience will be considered.
