General Manager – Sales & Marketing

An exceptional opportunity exists for an experienced automotive sales leader to join one of Papua New Guinea's largest and most established automotive distribution businesses.

Representing globally recognised automotive and mobility brands, this executive leadership role will be responsible for driving national sales performance, increasing market share, strengthening dealer and fleet channels, and delivering commercial growth across a diverse product portfolio.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the organisation's future growth strategy while leading a high-performing team across sales, fleet, key accounts, used vehicles and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute national sales and marketing strategies.
  • Drive unit sales growth, profitability and market share expansion.
  • Lead product planning, pricing and market positioning initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with global manufacturers and key stakeholders.
  • Strengthen fleet, government and corporate sales channels.
  • Improve forecasting, inventory management and demand planning.
  • Lead national product launches and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and mentor sales and marketing teams across a nationwide network.
  • Identify new business opportunities and growth initiatives.


About You
You are a commercially astute sales and marketing executive with a proven track record of delivering growth within automotive distribution, commercial vehicles, industrial products or a closely related sector.

You possess strong strategic capability while maintaining the ability to drive operational execution and commercial outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • 10+ years' senior leadership experience within automotive distribution or a related industry.
  • Experience managing multi-brand product portfolios.
  • Strong OEM, manufacturer or distributor relationship management experience.
  • Proven success increasing sales, profitability and market share.
  • Significant P&L responsibility and commercial accountability.
  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and dealer networks.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Marketing or a related discipline.
