TESS Search Partners has been exclusively engaged to appoint a GM, Sales APAC for a global defence technology organisation delivering advanced communications solutions to military and government customers. This role represents the senior commercial leader for the Asia-Pacific region, responsible for driving regional revenue growth, leading both sales and business development functions, and strengthening relationships with defence customers, primes and channel partners across key markets.
Based in Adelaide, the position plays a critical leadership role connecting regional sales activity with the engineering and product teams located at head office. While the remit spans a geographically dispersed sales team across APAC and requires regular regional travel, the role is anchored in Adelaide and expected to maintain a visible and engaged presence within the office, fostering strong collaboration and alignment across the broader organisation.
The successful candidate will lead regional commercial strategy and build a disciplined sales organisation capable of executing both complex, long-cycle defence procurement programs and ongoing product sales into defence customers, primes and emerging technology companies, including UAV manufacturers. The role requires a leader who can balance structured capture activity for major defence programs with the day-to-day commercial execution required to drive consistent product sales performance.
Key markets include Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan, with additional engagement across India and selected Middle East opportunities. The role will require regular interaction with Australian Defence Force stakeholders and defence decision-makers in Canberra, as well as close engagement with regional partners and integrators.
You will be a commercially focused executive with experience leading regional sales teams and developing strong partner and customer relationships across the defence sector. Familiarity with the ADF environment and the broader defence ecosystem will be highly regarded, along with the ability to lead complex capture activity and deliver sustained regional revenue growth.
