PFB Job Description:
Role Summary:
Responsible for CAE analysis and simulation support for brake pipes & hoses components/systems. Execute structural, stiffness, modal, and durability analyses using ANSYS with meshing via HyperMesh/ANSA. Provide actionable recommendations to improve robustness, support correlation with test results, and assist issue closure.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate requirements into CAE load cases and boundary conditions; define analysis assumptions clearly.
• Build FE models and meshes (HyperMesh/ANSA), run solver (ANSYS), and interpret results.
• Perform strength, stiffness, fatigue/durability, and modal assessments; document results in concise reports.
• Support design optimization (weight/cost) while meeting safety factors and durability targets.
• Support test correlation and update models based on physical results; maintain CAE methods documentation.
• Provide DFMEA support by identifying failure modes and recommending design/process controls.
• Support issue resolution (cracks, deformations, durability/NVH issues) with root cause analysis.
• Assess vibration/fatigue risk for pipes, brackets, and retention points; support durability improvements for routing/clip strategy.
• Support correlation with vehicle/rig tests (whip, burst, vibration) and propose design changes.
Required Qualifications:
• B.E./B.Tech/M.E. in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5–10 years hands-on CAE experience in automotive components/systems.
• Proficiency with ANSYS and pre/post tools (HyperMesh/ANSA); understanding of fatigue methods and reporting.
• Good understanding of load paths, materials, joining methods, and correlation mindset.
Tools & Platforms:
• ANSYS (structural/fatigue/modal as applicable)
• HyperMesh and/or ANSA (meshing, model build, pre/post)
• Material data and fatigue methods (SN/ε-N) as applicable
• PLM/Documentation tools for report storage and traceability
Nice to Have:
• Hybrid/HEV vehicle exposure (good to have)
• Experience working in a structured product development environment (PDP / APQP / PPAP)
Behavioral Competencies:
• Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management
• Structured problem-solving mindset (8D/5-Why) and data-driven decision making
• Ownership, attention to detail, and delivery discipline
• Ability to work with global suppliers and multi-site teams
