Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Four-Slide Setup / Operator to join a growing industrial manufacturing company in Bristol, CT. This position is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and production support of four-slide / multi-slide forming machines used in the manufacturing of precision metal stampings, wire forms, flat springs, clips, contacts, and related components.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on setup experience in metal stamping, spring manufacturing, or precision component manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate four-slide / multi-slide forming machines
- Perform tooling installation, alignment, feed setup, and machine adjustments
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, and production issues
- Read and interpret blueprints, tooling drawings, and specifications
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools
- Maintain product quality and production efficiency
- Support tooling adjustments and minor tooling repairs
- Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams
- Maintain setup documentation and production records
- Follow safety and quality standards within a manufacturing environment
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years of Four-Slide / Multi-Slide setup experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with metal stamping, springs, wire forms, or precision manufacturing
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection equipment
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Bihler, Nilson, Torrington, or similar equipment
- Toolroom or light tooling repair experience
- Experience in Aerospace, Medical Device, Automotive, Electronics, or Industrial Manufacturing
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
