About Us:

Namibia-Experience is a leading tourism company based in Windhoek, Namibia, specialising in providing exceptional travel experiences across Namibia and Southern Africa. Namibia-Experience forms part of the Africa-Experience Collection, represented in multiple countries across Sub-Saharan Africa. We are currently seeking an experienced Fleet Manager to manage, maintain, and support our growing fleet of tourism vehicles.

Position Overview:

The Fleet Manager will be responsible for ensuring that our vehicles are safe, reliable, well-maintained, and ready for operation. This role includes the planning and coordination of vehicle maintenance, inspections, licensing and repairs. The position is not limited to administrative fleet management. The successful candidate must also be willing and able to work hands-on with the vehicles, including carrying out minor services, basic repairs, inspections, and small maintenance tasks where appropriate.

The ideal candidate is mechanically competent, highly organised, reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work closely with drivers, guides, operations staff, suppliers, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating the daily requirements of the company fleet
  • Ensuring that all vehicles are safe, roadworthy, clean, and operationally ready
  • Planning and scheduling regular vehicle services, inspections, and repairs
  • Carrying out minor services, basic repairs, checks, and maintenance tasks where appropriate
  • Identifying mechanical or technical issues and ensuring that they are addressed promptly
  • Coordinating with external workshops, suppliers, tyre companies, panel beaters, and dealerships
  • Monitoring vehicle condition before and after tours, transfers, and long-distance trips
  • Keeping accurate records of services, repairs, inspections, licences, roadworthy certificates, tyres, and related vehicle costs
  • Ensuring that vehicle licences, permits, insurance requirements, and documentation are kept up to date
  • Managing vehicle handovers and inspections with guides, drivers, and operations staff
  • Supporting breakdown management and operational problem-solving when vehicles are on the road
  • Monitoring fuel usage, tyre wear, vehicle damage, and overall fleet performance
  • Assisting with the development and improvement of fleet procedures and preventative maintenance systems
  • Training, guiding, and transferring practical vehicle knowledge to other team members where required

Candidate Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent
  • A recognised technical qualification in motor mechanics, diesel mechanics, automotive engineering, fleet management, or a related field would be a strong advantage
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ relevant experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance, workshop coordination, or a similar technical/operational role
  • Hands-on experience with 4×4 vehicle services, inspections, repairs, and general maintenance is required
  • Experience with commercial vehicles, safari vehicles, minibuses, or buses would be a strong advantage
  • A valid Code 10 / C1 driver’s licence is required

Key Skills Required:

  • Good practical understanding of vehicle maintenance and mechanical fault identification
  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise urgent repairs and operational requirements
  • Ability to work under pressure, especially during breakdowns or last-minute operational changes
  • Good communication skills in English; German would be a strong advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and a safety-first approach
  • Ability to work with external suppliers and service providers in a professional manner
  • Ability to transfer skills and practical knowledge to colleagues, drivers, and guides
