Overview
- The PDI Supervisor is part of the Vehicle Logistics Department and is responsible for supervising, implementing and continuously improving the pre-delivery inspection process for vehicles across Europe and other relevant markets.
- As the company continues to expand its activities, this role plays an important part in ensuring that all inbound, stored and outbound vehicles meet the required quality standards before delivery.
- The position covers inspection planning, quality control, issue reporting, supplier coordination and process improvement throughout the vehicle logistics flow.
- This position acts as the operational and quality interface between Vehicle Logistics, PDI coordinators, logistics service providers, compounds, Quality, Service, Sales and Delivery teams. The goal is to ensure a smooth, scalable and high-quality vehicle flow from headquarters or factories to dealers and end customers across Europe.
Your Job
- Plan, instruct, control and report pre-delivery inspection activities for new inbound vehicles, stored vehicles and outbound vehicles.
- Monitor vehicle inspection processes, including exterior and interior damage checks, component and accessory checks, damage claims, software updates, language settings and related PDI tasks.
- Coordinate PDI work performed either by internal teams or by third-party logistics service providers.
- Assign and coordinate third-party inspectors where required. – Develop and continuously improve PDI and quality-control processes across designated ports and compounds in Europe.
- Prepare detailed reports on PDI results, vehicle quality status, damage findings and recurring issues.
- Identify trends and potential quality concerns discovered during the PDI process. – Perform root-cause analysis and work closely with Quality, Production and Engineering teams to resolve issues identified during inspection.
- Maintain accurate records of new vehicle arrivals, PDI completion status and vehicles ready for delivery.
- Follow up on vehicles placed on hold and ensure corrective actions are completed in time to support delivery readiness.
- Coordinate with Delivery, Sales and Service teams to ensure operational requirements are incorporated into the PDI process.
- Build strong working relationships with logistics service providers and ensure requirements are clearly understood, prioritized and executed.
- Ensure vehicles comply with internal and external standards before moving through the PDI and delivery process.
- Escalate any vehicle quality or compliance concerns immediately.
- Coach and mentor PDI coordinators according to company quality standards, PDI procedures and vehicle delivery requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery quality, speed, transparency and operational efficiency.
- Work both from the headquarters office and at various compounds across Europe, with expected travel of around 50% or above.
Your Profile
- Experience in automotive service, vehicle inspection, quality control, PDI, vehicle logistics or aftersales operations
- Good understanding of vehicle inspection, PDI processes, damage assessment, delivery standards and quality assurance.
- Experience working with logistics service providers, compounds, inspection companies or aftersales partners is an advantage.
- Ability to identify quality issues, support root-cause analysis and follow up corrective actions.
- Able to develop, document and improve operational processes, inspection standards and working procedures.
- Practical knowledge of vehicle handling, light machinery and appropriate power tools. • Interest in IT-related transport management or vehicle logistics systems.
- Strong communication skills with internal teams and external service providers.
- Structured, detail-oriented and proactive, with strong follow-through.
- Able to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-moving environment.
- Practical problem-solving mindset and comfortable working in developing processes.
- Team player with the ability to support and guide PDI coordinators.
- Fluent German and good English skills; another European language is an advantage
- Valid category B driving licence is required.
