About the Role
As the ESG Manager for Changan Europe, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the company’s ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework across all European subsidiaries, including the UK subsidiaries. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive ESG integration into business strategy, operations, and communications, while ensuring Changan’s sustainability initiatives across Europe and the UK align with global standards and local regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Lead the establishment and continuous improvement of ESG management systems across Changan’s European subsidiaries, including the UK subsidiaries.
- Formulate the annual ESG work plan, define priorities, and ensure alignment with corporate strategy and EU and UK sustainability frameworks.
- Coordinate ESG initiatives across departments such as Business, Aftersales, and Brand to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage ESG data collection, reporting, and disclosure in accordance with EU and UK regulations (e.g., CSRD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR).
- Identify ESG-related risks and develop mitigation strategies, ensuring effective integration into enterprise risk management.
- Prepare ESG reports and communicate progress to stakeholders, regulators, and the public.
- Organize ESG training and awareness programs to promote sustainability culture across the organization.
- Oversee ESG regulatory compliance and sustainability disclosures across the EU and UK markets, ensuring alignment with applicable frameworks and reporting requirements, including SECR and the UK Sustainability Disclosure Standards (SDS).
Requirements
- Have a degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, Vehicle Engineering, or related field.
- Solid understanding of EU and UK sustainability regulations, governance standards, and ESG reporting obligations.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate responsibility roles, preferably in multinational or automotive companies.
- Strong knowledge of ESG reporting and disclosure frameworks, including CSRD, CSDDD, EU Taxonomy, and other relevant sustainability standards.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across different business functions and geographies.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Spanish and English is required; knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.
- A proactive mindset with strong strategic thinking and attention to detail.
