Following significant growth and continued national expansion, the company is seeking a high-impact Director of Recruiting to lead and modernize enterprise talent acquisition efforts across both field and corporate operations.

Position Summary

The Director of Recruiting will lead all enterprise recruiting and talent acquisition initiatives across the organization. This executive-level role is responsible for developing and executing a scalable recruiting strategy focused on attracting, hiring, and retaining high-performing CDL drivers, operations personnel, logistics professionals, and corporate talent nationwide.

The successful candidate will bring deep experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, supply chain, or high-volume operational recruiting environments. This leader must combine strategic vision with operational execution and possess strong expertise in driver recruiting, recruiting analytics, compliance, retention partnership, and recruiting technology optimization.

The Director of Recruiting will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership while building a best-in-class recruiting organization aligned with aggressive growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute a national recruiting strategy aligned with organizational growth goals.
  • Build scalable recruiting processes for CDL drivers, operations, maintenance, dispatch, customer service, and corporate functions.
  • Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning and hiring forecasts.
  • Establish recruiting KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives across sourcing, onboarding, and candidate experience.

Driver Recruiting Leadership

  • Design innovative CDL driver recruiting campaigns across multiple geographic markets.
  • Build pipelines for solo, team, regional, and specialty freight drivers.
  • Develop competitive market intelligence related to compensation, sign-on incentives, and retention trends.
  • Improve speed-to-hire and recruiting conversion metrics.
  • Create strategic partnerships with CDL schools, military transition programs, and driver referral networks.

Talent Acquisition Operations

  • Oversee full-cycle recruiting operations and recruiting team performance.
  • Optimize ATS, CRM, and recruiting workflow systems.
  • Standardize recruiting processes, compliance documentation, and onboarding coordination.
  • Ensure recruiting activities comply with DOT, FMCSA, EEOC, and employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations on retention initiatives and workforce engagement.

Employer Brand & Talent Marketing

  • Strengthen the company’s employer brand nationally.
  • Partner with marketing to enhance digital recruiting campaigns, social media presence, and recruiting communications.
  • Improve candidate engagement and recruiting conversion through modern talent marketing practices.
  • Elevate the organization’s reputation as an employer of choice within transportation and logistics.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing recruiting organization.
  • Establish accountability, recruiting standards, and professional development initiatives.
  • Foster a metrics-driven and service-oriented recruiting culture.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

  • 8+ years of progressive recruiting leadership experience.
  • Significant experience within trucking, transportation, logistics, supply chain, or industrial staffing environments.
  • Proven success recruiting CDL-A drivers at scale.
  • Experience leading recruiting teams in fast-growth operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA hiring standards and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success implementing recruiting systems, metrics, and process improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within asset-based transportation companies.
  • Background supporting temperature-controlled or expedited freight operations.
  • Multi-site or national recruiting leadership experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred.
