We are a well-established and growing office products company seeking an experienced Purchasing Director to lead our purchasing and inventory management operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and understands the buying for a distribution company.
Responsibilities:
· Direct all purchasing activities for workplace products, including office products, janitorial, breakroom and related supplies.
· Monitor inventory levels to maximize product availability while minimizing excess inventory.
· Analyze purchasing trends, costs, and vendor performance.
· Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
· Work closely with sales, customer service, and warehouse teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, wholesalers, and distributors.
· Manage purchasing and establish best practices for procurement operations.
· Analyze pricing, terms, rebate programs, and vendor agreements.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in a distribution industry, workplace supply experience is a plus.
· Experience with inventory control, forecasting, and purchasing systems.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership abilities.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ability to adapt to purchasing and analytical tools.
