Must Have

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Automobile Engineering preferred)
  • Experience 15-20 years total experience with minimum 5+ years in Business Development for Engine OEMs or automotive powertrain domain.
  • Strong exposure to engine platforms (single cylinder, multi-cylinder, CRDI, emission systems).
  • Experience in contract manufacturing / localization projects.
  • Proven track record of closing large OEM deals.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory transitions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Strategy

  • Develop and execute business strategy for Engine Contract Manufacturing.
  • Identify new opportunities with engine OEMs in automotive, off-highway, genset, and industrial segments.
  • Build long-term partnerships with domestic and international OEM customers.
  • Lead RFQ/RFI processes and coordinate techno-commercial proposals.

Customer & OEM Engagement

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective OEM clients.
  • Represent the organization in customer meetings, technical discussions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Understand OEM product roadmap (BS6, OBD2B, future BS7 readiness) and align internal capabilities.

Commercial & Contract Management

  • Lead pricing strategy, cost negotiations, and contract finalization.
  • Work closely with finance and costing teams for margin optimization.
  • Ensure commercial closure with clear terms on volume commitment, tooling, localization, and investments.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams for feasibility and project execution.
  • Drive localization and value engineering initiatives for competitive positioning.
  • Support program management during product industrialization phase.

Key Requirements

  • Education: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical / Automobile Engineering preferred), MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 15-20 years total experience with minimum 5+ years in Business Development for Engine OEMs or automotive powertrain domain.
  • Strong exposure to engine platforms (single cylinder, multi-cylinder, CRDI, emission systems).
  • Experience in contract manufacturing / localization projects.
  • Proven track record of closing large OEM deals.
