Where will you be working as a Design Engineer?
Mitsubishi Turbocharger and Engine Europe B.V. (MTEE) is part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) in Japan. Our Almere location consists of two divisions: Engine & Energy and Turbocharger. The first division engineers and sells gas and diesel engines as well as generator sets. MTEE is also a global player in the turbocharger market for the automotive industry. We are one of the only organizations in the Netherlands that develops and manufactures its own turbochargers. We are involved in the entire development process, something that makes us unique in what we do.
In this position, you will join the Design Engineering department. This team consists of seven colleagues, including a team lead, and you will collaborate closely with other departments across the organization.
What will be your challenge as a Design Engineer?
In this role, you help shape the technology of tomorrow. As the world around us evolves, you work on designs for the engines of the future. Starting from an engine environment, you design a technically sound turbocharger based on customer specifications.
Your responsibilities include:
- Translating customer specifications and engine environments into innovative turbocharger designs;
- Communicating and coordinating with various departments to ensure technical manufacturability;
- Creating designs using CAD software such as Catia and NX;
- Communicating with and advising customers regarding material selection.
What do you bring as a Design Engineer?
Alongside a technically creative mindset, you have a strong passion for automotive engineering and turbocharger design. Because you will communicate frequently with different departments, strong communication skills are essential.
Additionally, you:
- Have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a similar field;
- Preferably have several years of experience as a Design Engineer;
- Ideally have experience with various CAD packages, with NX being a strong advantage;
- Work proactively and easily switch between different departments.
