Continuing Education Instructor – Auto Mechanics (1&2) Jobs in Yorktown Heights, NY at Putnam|Northern Westchester BOCES
Putnam Northern Westchester BOCES is seeking an Auto Mechanics Continuing Education Instructor to execute the following:
1. Develop & implement engaging curriculum, tailored to the needs of adult learners, to include instruction and/or practice in: Completing tune-ups, ignition work, transmission service, lubrication and engine maintenance, brakes and tires, suspension and emission control, etc.
2. Manage classroom dynamics to create a respectful, inclusive, motivating environment for diverse student populations
3. Assess and support student progress, working closely with students to support their goals
4. Maintain accurate attendance, participation, and performance records
Qualifications:
1. Experience teaching, preferably within adult education and/or classroom settings
2. Formal educational/vocational training (ASE certification a plus) and/or at least 2-3 years work experience in field
3. Familiarity with learning technology tools
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
5. Punctual & must be willing to teach assigned course(s) for the full scheduled duration
Characteristics Desired:
Prior experience and/or strong desire to work with students from varied backgrounds and skill levels. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Pay: $39.45 – $47.55 per hour
