PFB Job Description:
Area of Responsibility:
- Perform baseline NVH CAE analysis for BIW and body structures and present concise technical insights to stakeholders.
- Develop and optimize body structures to meet NVH targets such as:
- Global static & dynamic stiffness
- Local dynamic stiffness
- Frequency response (VTF, NTF)
- Support design teams in delivering NVH-compliant solutions within program timelines.
- Drive test support activities and ensure effective test-to-CAE correlation.
- Consider real-world constraints (packaging, manufacturing, cost) during solution development.
- Participate in model build, debugging, and validation of simulation setups.
- Work collaboratively in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced development environment.
Job Requirements:
Primary Skills Required
- Strong expertise in BIW/component NVH performance development using CAE.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Optistruct – Static, Modal, Dynamic (FRF, NTF, VTF), Optimization
- Debugging and model validation
- Ability to interpret CAE results and provide actionable design recommendations.
- Good understanding of low-frequency NVH behaviour (0–500 Hz).
- Proficiency in HyperWorks suite (HyperMesh, HyperView, HyperGraph).
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
Additional Skills Preferred
- Experience in design optimization techniques.
- Exposure to Excel macro/VBA automation.
Knowledge of:
- BIW structure design & development
- Virtual series development process
- Connections, joints, and kinematics modelling
- Awareness of manufacturing feasibility and packaging constraints.
- Familiarity with acoustic cavity modelling.
Experience Required
- 6–10 years of experience in automotive NVH CAE analysis.
- Proven experience in:
- Body structure NVH simulations (trimmed & un-trimmed)
- Design improvement recommendations based on CAE results
- Capability to independently handle medium-to-high complexity tasks.
- Experience in OEM/Tier-1 environments preferred.
Software Skills Required
- Primary: Optistruct (SOL101, 103, 108, 111, 200 equivalent)
- Pre/Post: HyperWorks (v17 or above)
- Others: MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Exposure to CAD/PLM tools (3DEXPERIENCE preferred)
- Experience Preferred
- Experience with physical testing methods for body structures
- Exposure to OEM CAE workflows and quality processes
- Understanding of IT/PLM systems
