MCVR is a fast-growing, independent vehicle rental company providing cars, vans, minibuses and camper vans to retail and business customers across the UK. Built on strong relationships, great service and a modern fleet, we’re expanding quickly and looking for an ambitious Branch Manager to take ownership of one of our rental locations.
This is not a corporate desk job. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, leading from the front and running the branch like their own business.
You’ll be responsible for everything from customer experience and vehicle utilisation to deliveries, collections, team leadership and local business development.
Ideal for experienced rental professionals from Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz or similar who want more autonomy in a growing independent business.
The Role
We’re looking for someone who wants to run a vehicle rental branch like their own business.
As Branch Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day running and performance of the branch, ensuring vehicles are on rent, customers are happy and operations run smoothly.
This is a hands-on operational role where you’ll be involved in everything from managing bookings and customers to driving vehicles for deliveries, collections and vehicle movements.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership while having the autonomy to make decisions locally and drive the branch forward.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations
- Oversee the daily running of the rental office and vehicle yard
- Manage bookings, vehicle availability and fleet utilisation
- Ensure vehicles are clean, inspected and prepared for hire
- Maintain excellent customer service standards
- Handle customer queries, walk-ins and escalations professionally
Vehicle Deliveries & Collections
- Carry out vehicle deliveries and collections to customers
- Move vehicles between branches or suppliers when required
- Conduct vehicle handovers and condition inspections
- Ensure vehicles are returned, checked and prepared for the next hire
This role requires someone comfortable spending time on the road as well as in the office.
Team Leadership
- Lead and support branch staff
- Create a professional, motivated working environment
- Organise daily tasks and responsibilities
- Train new staff and maintain operational standards
Growing the Business
- Build relationships with local businesses, garages and account customers
- Identify opportunities to increase bookings and vehicle utilisation
- Represent and grow the MCVR brand locally
- Ensure vehicles are working hard and generating revenue
Fleet & Compliance
- Monitor vehicle condition, damage and servicing schedules
- Ensure vehicles remain roadworthy and compliant
- Coordinate repairs, inspections and vehicle movements
- Manage damage reports, PCNs and vehicle records
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in vehicle rental, automotive, fleet or operational roles
- Someone who enjoys taking ownership and getting stuck in
- Strong organisational and customer service skills
- A confident leader who can manage both staff and customers
- Commercial awareness and a focus on keeping vehicles on rent
- Full UK driving licence
Experience in Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz or similar rental businesses would be highly beneficial.
