SUMMARY:
An exciting opportunity is available for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a fast-growing South African business operating within the vehicle rental and finance sector. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and has strong experience using Xero.
POSITION INFO:
Our client is a dynamic and growing business focused on providing innovative vehicle rental and rent-to-own solutions across South Africa. The company operates in a modern, technology-driven environment and is looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day finance function.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, assisting with reconciliations, and ensuring financial information is kept up to date on Xero. This role will suit someone who is organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities within a high-volume transactional environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing supplier invoices and customer transactions
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Managing debtors and creditors
- Assisting with month-end procedures
- Capturing and maintaining accurate financial records on Xero
- Processing journals and maintaining general ledger accuracy
- Supporting the finance team with administrative and reporting duties
- Ensuring compliance with internal financial controls and procedures
Job Experience & Skills Required:
- Diploma in Bookkeeping, Finance, Accounting, or similar qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ bookkeeping experience
- Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
- Experience with debtors, creditors, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping functions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills advantageous
- Experience within a rental, automotive, finance, or service-driven environment will be beneficial
