Duties And Responsibilities
Perform basic maintenance functions including:
- Tire mounting, dismounting, balancing, and alignment checks
- Shock and strut inspections
- Fluid level checks and lube/oil/filter services
- Air filter changes and lubrication of automobiles and light trucks
- Battery testing and installation
- Smart tumbler service
Conduct Tire-related Services
- Visual tire and brake inspections
- TPMS sensor programming and installation
- Tire safety inspections, rotations, air pressure checks, and installations
- Flat tire repairs including patching and nail removal
Other Responsibilities
- Operate shop equipment safely, including vehicle lifts
- Support higher-level technicians with technical tasks and diagnostics
- Test drive vehicles to identify issues and recommend services per Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) guidelines
- Follow Goodyear?s standardized oil change and vehicle inspection processes
- Maintain clean and orderly service bays; clean spills and work areas at shift end
- Assist with inventory tasks such as offloading and storing delivered tires
- Adhere to safety protocols, use protective equipment when operating machinery and tools and complete all required safety training
- Ensure compliance with Goodyear Retail policies, procedures, and labor guidelines
- Accurately complete work orders and meet documentation standards
- Uphold standards of sales, service, and housekeeping
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Store Manager
Position Skills And Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record and ability to drive company and customer vehicles.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to cover business operational needs. Depending on location, our stores may be open 7 days a week, which may include weekends and holidays.
- Commitment to following established safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret information, identify problems, and make decisions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, associates, and management.
- Utilize tools, skills, and product knowledge to make recommendations to customers based on manufacturing guidelines.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to be flexible since the priorities of the day can change.
- Engage in collaboration and team cooperation needed to meet business needs.
- Ability to read, listen, comprehend, and follow all procedures and guidelines.
Experience/Certification Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Automotive repair and problem solving.
- Required: 609 Certification, Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) A4 Certification in Steering and Suspension and A5 Certification in Brakes.
- Preferred: G1 Certification
- Preferred: State inspection licenses and/or MAC certified.
