Summary:
Responsible for identifying necessary vehicle service and performing repair, service, and/or maintenance work.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Examine customer vehicles.
- Identify necessary vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Estimate cost of repairs.
- Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance.
- Document services performed.
- Carry out work efficiently and in accordance with dealership guidelines.
- Follow dealership and manufacturer service guidelines.
- Request necessary parts.
- Maintain CSI at or above company standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area.
- Participate in required training.
- Record all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system.
- Follow Safeguards rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values.
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Observe all federal, state, local and company safety rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of automotive parts and systems, demonstrable mechanical skills, and technical training or commensurate technical experience are required.

Physical Demands
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Environment Demands
Duties are performed primarily in the service area, involving movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors, and the service manager.
Verbal and Writing Ability
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, deal with standardized situations, and understand and follow technical manuals.

Salary Range
The Technician position has a pay scale with base compensation of $21.00 to $45.00 per flat-rate hour. A production bonus based on individual or team performance may be awarded, ranging from $0.00 if baseline benchmarks are not met. No fixed upper limit is set.
