We have a great opportunity for a Part-Time Automotive Service Technician with Safety Certification to join our dynamic team in a company with strong growth opportunities. We are one of the fastest-growing dealerships in Manitoba with a recently expanded shop to support our growing customer base.

After the initial 90 days of training, success means having the ability and skills to diagnose and perform vehicle maintenance and repairs and to inform Service Advisors of the required work on a vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect vehicles to ensure they meet government safety standards and regulations.
  • Determine if a vehicle is safe for the road and issue a Certificate of Inspection (COI) when it passes.
  • Perform necessary repairs and maintenance to enable a vehicle to pass a safety inspection.
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle systems, including brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
  • Inform Tower/Dispatch when repairs are finished and ensure reports are complete with a clearly documented complaint, cause, and correction story.
  • Check and verify parts before installation.

Qualifications

  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Safety-certified certification.
  • Red Seal L4 Technician Certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical diagnosis and repair, including electrical systems.
  • A/C license is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Can-do attitude and ability to face challenges.
  • Pride in workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a busy but well-structured workshop environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and the ability to work unsupervised.
