Role Description The Automotive Service Advisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Harbro Auto Sales & Service in Whitinsville, MA. The person in this position serves as the primary point of contact between customers and the service department, greeting customers, listening to their concerns, and accurately documenting vehicle issues. Day-to-day tasks include creating service estimates, explaining recommended maintenance and repairs, coordinating with technicians, and monitoring the progress of work to ensure timely completion. The role also involves reviewing invoices with customers, answering questions about services and warranties, and following up to confirm satisfaction and address any concerns. The Automotive Service Advisor is expected to maintain clear communication, provide transparent and professional guidance, and support a positive, efficient service experience for every customer.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills, with a focus on building trust and maintaining long-term relationships.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Vehicle Maintenance and Automotive Repair to effectively explain services and collaborate with technicians.
- Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, including active listening and the ability to translate technical information into understandable terms.
- Candidates should possess basic computer and point-of-sale skills, including working with service management software and preparing accurate documentation.
- Previous experience in an automotive service advisor, service writer, or related customer-facing automotive role is preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional automotive or customer service training or certifications are beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site full time, manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a courteous, solutions-oriented approach with customers and colleagues.
- Candates must be available to work Saturdays on a rotating schedule
- Must have a valid drivers license
- Will be required to obtain state inspectors license, cost covered by Harbro Sales & Service
