Automotive Body Technician Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the other body techs in prepping and tearing down of damaged vehicles
- Repair and restore vehicles to pre-accident condition, following the written repair order
- Approaches repair planning with a sense of urgency and detail to avoid waste and rework later in the process. De-trims and assembles vehicles, putting parts on parts carts. Performs pre-pulls to make repair versus replace decisions.
- Assists in identifying and sourcing parts as necessary.
- Performs quality repairs without passing on defects.
- Communicate with dispatch office, parts department and the Body Shop Manager
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive body repair
- Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and for our records
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety
- Continue Training on Auto Body Repair
Automotive Body Technician Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED required
- ASE certification is a plus
- Willingness to participate in in-house training
- Ability to operate all auto repair tools
- Knowledge of tools and equipment
