Key duties include routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations) and ensuring vehicles meet safety standards. Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Diagnostics:
Utilizing computerized diagnostic tools to identify mechanical or electrical malfunctions.
- Maintenance:
Performing routine services such as oil changes, fluid level checks, filter replacements, and tire rotations.
- Repair:
Repairing or replacing worn parts, including brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and steering components.
- Engine & System Work:
Repairing engines, transmissions, and drivebelts.
- Documentation:
Recording time, parts, and repairs performed, according to manufacturer or customer specifications.
- Customer Service:
Explaining automotive problems and repair options to clients.
- Safety:
Adhering to safety regulations, maintaining a clean workspace, and conducting road tests to verify repairs.
Requirements And Qualifications
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification:
Vocational school training or ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is highly preferred.
- Experience:
Generally requires 2+ years of experience in a professional repair setting.
