Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer – MES & IoT, based in the Chakan. The role involves leading and supporting the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and IoT solutions on the shop floor. Responsibilities include gathering requirements from production, quality, and maintenance teams, translating them into MES/IoT functionalities, and coordinating with internal IT, automation, and external vendors for implementation. The role also includes monitoring and sustaining system performance, troubleshooting MES and IoT issues, ensuring data integrity, and integrating MES with ERP, PLCs, and other plant systems. The Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer will contribute to digitalization initiatives, drive data-driven process improvements, train end users, prepare technical documentation, and ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of MES concepts, architecture, configuration, and integration with shop-floor automation and ERP systems.
- Understanding of IoT platforms, industrial connectivity (sensors, gateways, PLCs), and data acquisition from manufacturing equipment.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, preferably in automotive or component manufacturing, and familiarity with lean, TPM, TQM or similar methodologies.
- Ability to analyze production data, create dashboards or reports, and use insights to support productivity, quality, and OEE improvement.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues across MES, networks, and interfaces, and coordinating with cross-functional and vendor teams for resolution.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and user training skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on the shop floor.
- Project Management (PMP, Prince2, Scrum) skill is an added advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Science, or related fields)
