Title: ASEAN/APDM Homologation Engineer

  • Plan, Obtain and Maintain type approval certificates for vehicles and components in specific ASEAN and APDM markets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders and conduct testing and certification activities (e.g. attend and/or facilitate witness authority Plant audit, Vehicle inspection) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit required documentation, including technical files, test results, and type approval certificates, to distributors.
  • Deliver appropriate guidance on regulatory and quasi-regulatory requirements.
  • Interface and communicate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Product Development, Planning, Manufacturing, etc.) in International Markets Group, Europe, South America, North America, and China to ensure product compliance.
  • External Representation with Authorities and Distributors for Ford technical position for homologation and regulation activity.
  • Support Regulation engineer to monitor regulation movement including local homologation practice and cascade those information to Ford cross functional teams and Ford internal FEDE database system.

  • Diploma/Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience
  • Familiarity with automotive regulations and homologation processes.
  • Prior regulatory, homologation or industry standards development experience highly regarded.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with continuous improvement mindset.
  • High levels of integrity and ethics;
  • English reading and writing proficiency required.

  • Sales and Marketing for ASEAN and Asia Pacific Direct Markets
  • Manufacturing plants in Thailand, including Quality Assurance, Government Regulations Coordinators, and Custom teams
  • Ford Government Affairs Department
  • Ford Taxation Department
  • Ford Office of Government Compliance (Legal)

External Stakeholders

  • Distributors’ homologation engineers in ASEAN and Asia Pacific Direct Markets.
  • ASEAN and Asia Pacific Direct Markets Authorities: e.g. Malaysia’s JPJ, Indonesia’s MoT, Cambodia’s ISC, Philippines DENR, DOE, etc.
  • Thailand Authorities; DLT, TISI, OIE, NBTC
  • Technical Service; TAI, ATTRIC, VCA, TUV, SGS, etc.

What are the key measurements for this position?

  • Create comprehensive homologation plans for ASEAN and Asia Pacific Direct Markets.
  • On time homologation / Vehicle Type approval for responsible markets.
  • Maintain existing vehicle approvals/licenses throughout the product lifecycle.
