About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Area Sales Manager to lead business growth, expand distribution networks, and drive sustainable sales performance within assigned territories. This role plays a critical part in strengthening market presence, managing distributor partnerships, and developing high-performing sales teams.

Key Responsibilities1. Territory Sales Management

  • Develop and execute regional business plans to achieve sales targets.
  • Take full ownership of revenue growth, market coverage, and sales effectiveness.
  • Monitor business performance and optimize operational costs to maximize profitability.
  • Ensure achievement of sales KPIs and business objectives within the assigned territory.

2. Market Development & Channel Expansion

  • Expand market penetration across automotive workshops, spare parts retailers, service centers, and dealerships.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned region.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen distributor networks.
  • Execute sales promotion and trade marketing programs to enhance market visibility and customer engagement.

3. Distributor Management

  • Collaborate closely with distributors to manage sales targets, inventory levels, and accounts receivable.
  • Implement pricing, discount, and promotional policies effectively.
  • Ensure brand visibility, merchandising standards, and product availability at points of sale.
  • Drive distributor performance and business growth through strategic partnership management.

4. Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop regional Sales and Trade Marketing teams.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor performance and provide on-the-job coaching.
  • Utilize DMS (Distribution Management System) and sales reports to track team productivity and market execution.
  • Foster a high-performance and results-oriented sales culture.

5. Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights.
  • Analyze sales performance, distribution coverage, and promotional effectiveness.
  • Provide regular business reports and actionable recommendations to support growth strategies.
  • Identify opportunities and propose initiatives to increase market share and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of sales experience in FMCG, automotive aftermarket, lubricants, technical products, or related industries.
  • At least 2–3 years of experience in an Area Sales Manager, Regional Sales Supervisor, or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of distributor management and indirect sales channels.
  • Experience working with extensive distribution networks is highly preferred.
  • Existing relationships with distributors within the assigned territory is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for business purposes.
