PFB Job Description:

Role Summary:

Responsible for CAD design and detailing of air spring & damper module components for passenger cars. Create 3D models and 2D drawings in CATIA, manage packaging and interfaces, release parts via PLM, and support builds and issue resolution in collaboration with Lead/System and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models and 2D drawings in CATIA (GD&T, drawing standards, BOM).

• Perform packaging and interface design (clearances, motion envelopes, serviceability, assembly feasibility).

• Apply DFM/DFA principles; select materials/processes (sheet metal, cast/forged, plastics, weldments as applicable).

• Support tolerance stack-ups and design robustness; provide DFMEA inputs.

• Release parts in PLM; manage ECR/ECO and configuration control.

• Support supplier CAD data exchange, drawing reviews, and prototype/build issue closure.

• Design module hardware interfaces: brackets/retainers, top mount/bearing stack interfaces, jounce bumper packaging.

• Support tolerance stacks for mount interfaces and ensure robust assembly/service strategy.

Required Qualifications:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (or equivalent).

• 5–10 years hands-on CAD design experience in automotive components/systems.

• Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6, 2D drawing creation, GD&T, and automotive release processes.

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and component integration.

Tools & Platforms:

• CATIA V5/V6 (part design, assembly, drafting, routing workbenches as relevant)

• PLM: Teamcenter / ENOVIA (or equivalent)

• GD&T, tolerance stack-up methods

• Issue tracking and change management tools

Nice to Have:

• Hybrid/HEV vehicle exposure (good to have)

• Experience working in a structured product development environment (PDP / APQP / PPAP)
